I have decided that I am not cut out to be a blogger. What kind of blogger blogs one every few months? Not that this is intended to be on ongoing commentary of my hooker-ish ways, but at least I could keep every one up to date.
Wait! Is there anybody out there? Hello?
Well, anyway, I have some new patterns in the works so stay tuned for a reindeer, lady bug, penguin and a cool spider one! I will get pics up as soon as I am finished with my samples.
In the meantime, check out my Etsy page for my newest hat - Hello Kitty! Meow!

Etsy up and running!
I became a little overwhelmed right before Christmas. 2 weeks before the BIG DAY, I had 10 beanie orders so I was frantically looping and hooking and shipping during every available bit of time I might have away from my responsibilities as an employee, mom, and wife. Now that the holidays are mostly over, I can breathe a sigh of relief. I did it and only had one snafu along the way (Sorry Mel!).
Being a state employee we have the wonderful privilege of getting furlough days. You know, those pesky days off without pay to help the state save money (thank God I have a nice vacation bank!)... Well, someone came up with the fantabulous idea to give us the week between Christmas and New Year's off and with Emma in daycare, I have been able to spend some time actually working on my Etsy shop. New Banner, new business cards, new blog look (kind of, still working on the kinks) and advertising!
With that being said, some of the hat patterns I have purchased came with the caveat that I cannot sell the hats on Etsy, so I am posting them here for my dear friends and family and their referrals! Yes, they can still be ordered, in just a slightly different way. E mail me for more info!
So, I am going to sign off now since I have successfully spent 12 hours in front of this computer and on my day off, I have no business wasting my day here.
Happy New Year.

Update!
Hood to Coast 2011 has come and gone. I had a lot of fun despite the heat, traffic, and casualties on our team. We had several people run more than 3 legs and many last minute runners coming in to fill the gaps. Thanks to all!
Most of all though, I would like to send a shout out to Richard Aldersea, who, without his support, we would not get to experience H2C on this level. His generosity has made it all possible. Of course, he has a motive! For the 10th anniversary of his foundation, the Ashleigh Mackay Aldersea Foundation, the goal was to raise $10,000 per team. He's extended our deadline to October 31, so keep buying those hats and sharing this link!

Even Adults Love my Hats
I think that there is the mis-perception that I make these hats for babies, after all, my Blog name is Babies Love Beanies. The fact is, the sale of the hats benefits babies therefore they love them! I would say about half of the hats I have sold have actually been for adults to wear, even my fun character ones! The picture below shows off the owl hat that I have for sale and how good it looks on adults, like my brother! It's not too late to buy your beanie to support the Ashleigh Mackay Aldersea Foundation!

11 days and counting!
Yes, 11 more days until I head up to Timberline and start the journey down! Still need to make some more money! Yesterday I made another attempt at a garage sale since my last one was a bust thanks the Mother Nature. I can happily say that I raised over $150 selling items from my house as well as those generously donated by my neighbors. One item donated by a neighbor was a little U of O onesie and matching ballcap. In between "customers" I was inspired and came up with this Oregon Ducks Beanie. Fortunately for all Oregonians, I am originally a Washingtonian and therefore have no particular alliance so a OSU one is on the way!

A Special Request
My cousin Kelly made a special request for a panda hat for her daughter. I didn't see any patterns I liked online so I invented my own and I think it turned out pretty good! Not bad for someone who has only been crocheting for 8 months!
